DotCom Secrets Book Review: An In-Depth, Must Read Before You Buy

Wanting a sneak preview as well as a DotCom Secrets Book Review before grabbing a copy of DotCom Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online?

Before buying, I wanted you to read this DotCom Secrets book review so you know exactly what you get before you order it. Seems only fair right?

You may have already seen a few reviews, in fact even Tony Robbins recommends the book! The goal of this post though is to go a little more in depth so you can decide whether you want to pick up a copy or not.

So let me first talk about the guy who wrote the book, Russell Brunson. He has been successful in mentoring others in online marketing for over 12 years, he got started like most people while going through college and getting curious about how making money in the real world works.

Just one year after graduating college, he sold over a million dollars worth of his own products and services from the humble beginnings of his basement!

Fast forward to the modern day, right now Russell trains 6 and 7 figure earners, showing them how to increase conversions and sales in their businesses in all aspects of online marketing. He also runs DotCom Secrets, which is his online marketing agency, and is the creator of ClickFunnels that lets you build advanced high converting sales funnels (you can get a 2 week free trial for Clickfunnels here)

Russell does a free training webinar every Friday called Funnel Fridays where he builds funnels from scratch in a variety of niches (including some unusual ones!). So it’s safe to say that he over delivers on value, especially for free.

He was also talked about highly and referenced a lot by video marketing expert Jon Penberthy when I attended a high level conference called the Front Line Marketer event.

DotCom Secrets Book Review

In terms of the actual DotCom Secrets book review, it is 255 pages which is longer than most online marketing related books or eBooks. Here are the chapters you will read and the contents, I honestly haven’t seen this anywhere else online so I will just type these out for you:

Section One: Ladders and Funnels Funnels

In this section, you learn about The Secret Formula, The Value Ladder, From a Ladder to a Funnell, How to Find Your Dream Customers and The Three Types of Traffic.

Section Two: Your Communication Funnel

In this section, you learn about The Attractive Character, The Soap Opera Sequence, and the Daily Seinfeld Sequence.

Section Three: Funnelology Leading Your Customers to the Sale (Over and Over Again)

In this section, you learn about Reverse Engineering a Successful Funnel, Seven Phases of a Funnel, The Twenty-Three Building Blocks of a Funnel, Frontend vs. Backend Funnels, and The Best Bait.

Section Four: Funnels and Scripts

This is the longest section of the book, and you learn about:

Frontend Funnels

  • Funnel #1: Two-Step, Free-Plus-Shipping
  • Funnel #2: Self-Liquidating Offer
  • Funnel #3: Continuity

Funnels for the Middle of the Value Ladder

  • Funnel #4: The Perfect Webinar
  • Funnel #5: Invisible Funnel Webinar
  • Funnel #6: Product Launch

Backend Funnel

  • Funnel #7: High-Ticket, Three Step Application

Section Five: ClickFunnels

  • Conclusion: Ignite

What’s the verdict?

So this is sure is a LOT of content for a free book! Here’s my verdict: this is a book I reference when setting up funnels on platforms like Clickfunnels, testing new sales pages, checking why some pages might not be converting and writing follow up emails.

It’s not just traffic you need – it’s traffic that converts! I would say I’m an experienced online marketer and I’ve been in the game for over five years now, and I STILL picked up some new tips and strategies.

I highly recommend this book for anyone, newbies and veterans alike. It literally walks you through from start to finish, how to identify your perfect prospects and then create a sales funnel that they would fall in love with, then buy from. My suggestion is to get your clients and customers to pick this up and study it like a bible, religiously, like I have done.

To be totally honest, the book at the time of writing is actually free and you just pay shipping and handling ($7.95 worldwide at the time of writing – ideal for us Europeans!).

Lastly, it’s one of the few books I actually go back to reference even after reading it a few times, which is super rare. I certainly haven’t been able to fault it and I give it a 10 out of 10, Russell should definitely be charging for this!

So if you enjoyed this DotCom Secrets book review and would like a free copy while the offer is still going, you can grab it here.

  1. Great review Seb. I live this book and certainly something I refer back to time after time to tweak and test my sales funnels. Anyone reading this should definitely grab the Free offer.

    1. Seb Brantigan says:

Much appreciated Billy thanks for stopping by man!

  2. Love this book. The new Funnelology Masterclass course covers the concept of the value ladder in a new way that is built off of the original concept introduced in this book.
